Chapter 01 - God, our Creator and Father

God is the Creator of all things, "visible and invisible." God is eternal. Man is made in God's image and likeness. God reveals Himself to us through creation, the Bible, the Catholic Church, and especially through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Chapter 02 - The Beauty of God's Creation

Chapter 2 Preview All of God's creation is good. Creation was made for man and woman. We have been made for a loving relationship with God. We can learn about God from His creation. We must respect and appreciate the gift of creation.

Chapter 03 - The Holy Bible

Chapter 02 Preview: The Bible is the written Word of God. The human authors of the Bible received the gift of Inspiration from the Holy Spirit. The Old Testament recounts the story of creation and God's relationship with the people of Israel. The New Testament begins with the Gospels and tells of the early Catholic Church.

Chapter 04 - The Blessed Trinity

The Trinity is the central mystery of our faith. There is only one true God. There are three divine Persons in one God. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all divine Persons, of the one divine nature. Jesus Christ is the perfect revelation of God.

Chapter 05 - God Becomes Man

Through sin, Adam and Eve separated humanity from God and brought death into the world. God immediately promised a Savior. At the Annunciation, the Son of God became Man in the womb of the Virgin Mary. The Son of God became human to save us from sin and restore our relationship with God.

Chapter 06 - Jesus Shows the Father's Mercy

Chapter 6 Preview: • Jesus was born in Bethlehem on the first Christmas. • Jesus performed miracles as signs. • Jesus demonstrated God's mercy to sinners. • Jesus told parables to the people. • The parable of the Prodigal Son illustrates God's incredible mercy.

Chapter 07 - The Perfect Sacrifice

Chapter 7 Preview: • Jesus paid the price of sin with His death on the cross. • The Passover lamb is an image of Jesus, the Lamb of God. • Jesus freely laid down His life so we could be sons and daughters of God.

Chapter 08 - Christ is Risen, Alleluia!

Chapter 8 Preview: • Jesus rose from the dead on Easter Sunday. • Jesus defeated death for all of us. • We can live forever with God in perfect happiness in Heaven. • We must celebrate the Paschal Mystery at holy Mass on Sunday, the Lord's Day.

Chapter 09 - The Ascension and Second Coming

Chapter 9 Preview: • After His Resurrection, Jesus spent 40 days with the apostles. • The office the apostles received has been passed on to the bishops of the Catholic Church. • The apostles were commissioned to make disciples of the whole world. • Jesus ascended to Heaven. • Jesus will return in glory to judge the living and the dead.

Chapter 10 - Pentecost and the Holy Spirit

Chapter 10 Preview: • The Holy Spirit came to the apostles at Pentecost. • The Holy Spirit is God, the Third Person of the Trinity. • We receive the Holy Spirit at Baptism and we are strengthened in the Gifts of the Spirit at Confirmation. • The Holy Spirit guides the Church, protecting her teaching from error. • The Holy Spirit can guide and sanctify us.
