Lent 46 - The Tomb

One of Jesus' friends, Joseph of Arimathea, who was a Jewish ruler, went to Pilate and asked him for the body of Jesus. Since Jesus was dead Pilate allowed joseph to take the body of Jesus. They wrapped Jesus' body in fine linen cloth and laid it in Joseph's new tomb. Some of the Jewish leaders went to Pilate and said they wanted him to place guards in believed that the disciples of Jesus might steal his body and say that he had risen from the dead.
